Shropshire baritone Peter Edge is a Rising Star of the Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment (2025–27) and Rising Star of Voice at the Edinburgh International Festival (2025). This year, concert highlights include Bach’s Johannes Passion with the OAE, conducted by Johanna Soller at the Queen Elizabeth II Hall, Bach’s Easter Oratorio with the Constellation Choir and Orchestra, conducted by Sir John Eliot Gardiner at the Teatro Nuovo Giovanni da Udine, and Handel’s Messiah with Manchester Camerata, conducted by Laurence Cummings, and with Orquesta Ciudad de Granada, conducted by Eamonn Dougan.
Future concerts include, Peter’s solo European operatic debut in the François de Carpentries production of Handel’s Atalanta at the Innsbruck Festen der Alten Musik, perform the role of Zaretsky in Tchaikovsky’s Eugene Onegin, conducted by Lidiya Yankovskaya at the Grange Festival and sing Elgar’s Dream of Gerontius as part of St Martin in the Fields 300th Anniversary Celebration.
